Vestas chosen for world's largest hybrid plant

Australian project nominates Vestas to supply turbines and a control system for a 1.1 GW project which will include a battery four times the size of Tesla's upcoming record battery.

Irish DP Energy will construct the world's largest hybrid plant in Australia.

The project, Port Augusta, will be installed in two phases. The first phase will see the construction of wind turbines totaling 220 MW and solar panels of 150 MW. The second phase will include another 300 MW of solar power and the addition of a battery plant totaling 400 MW, which is four times the size of the record battery that Tesla is installing on the Australian farm Hornsdale, announces DP Energy.
