Another subcontractor distressed on Danish-owned wind farm

An order for foundations on the Scottish wind farm Beatrice is one of several factors severely weighing down foundation supplier Bifab, report multiple media outlets.

Scottish subcontractor for the wind turbine and offshore oil industry, BiFab, is struggling with such immense liquidity problems, according to several British media, that as of Sunday,  November 12, the firm is just a step away from requesting administration court protection.

BBC reports that the financial struggles at the company, which employs more than 600 people, are related to the Beatrice wind farm in Scotland where BiFab is supplying 26 jacket foundations. This order is allegedly worth upwards of GBP 100 million.
