In the wake of Donald Trump's exit from the global climate deal, G20 leaders have cemented their commitment to the landmark 2015 agreement at the G20 meeting in Hamburg, while French President Macron says he has not given up trying to get Trump to change his mind.
"I never despair to convince, because I think it is a duty, given my position, and it is a trait of my character," said Macron at the meeting.
The French president will be granted the opportunity to convince Trump otherwise at a meeting Thursday evening, where the US president will dine with Macron according to news media AP. The day after, the two will participate in the national French holiday, Bastille Day.
