Denmark has narrow lead in sustainable energy development

When it comes to promoting the development of renewable energy technology, a new report says Denmark is the best in the world. But the Nordic country's leading position is on shaky ground, adds the report.

No country is better at promoting green energy technology than Denmark, concludes WWF and Cleantech Group in the new report Global Cleantech Innovation Index. Since the last report of its kind, released in 2014, Denmark has moved up five spots.

"Nice that Denmark is at the very top," says John Nordbo, Conservation Director of WWF Denmark, who goes on to note that the country will have to work hard to maintain its lead.
