Vestager: This is why Gazprom was not fined

It was a choice between a fine or changing practices, says the EU's Competitions Commissioner Margrethe Vestager in a comment on why Gazprom was not ultimately fined in a major competitions case about to be closed.

BRUSSELS

Gazprom could have be fined up to 10 percent of its revenue, which was USD 82.7 billion (EUR 77.7 billion) in 2015, for violating EU competitions regulations. Instead, the Russian gas company has opted to enter a deal to change its practices.
