Hungarian nuclear power plant gets EU approval for state aid

The EU Commission's investigation into Hungary's plans to expand its nuclear power plant Paks II has been concluded. Competitions Commissioner Margrethe Vestager has given the go-ahead for Hungary to provide financial support to the project.

BRUSSELS

The final part of the EU Commission's case against the expansion of Hungarian nuclear power plant Paks II is now complete. Monday the Commission issued a press release stating that an investigation had concluded that Hungary will grant state financial aid to the two reactors which will make up the expansion of the nuclear power plant.
