Facebook confirms data center in Denmark

US tech giant Facebook confirms plans to establish a major data center in Danish city Odense.

Facebook will construct a 56,500 square meter data center in Odense, Denmark, informs the tech company Thursday during a press conference at Odense city hall. Two data halls will be constructed, as well as a building for administration, and several technical facilities, states Facebook, though without disclosing the size of the investment.

"This concerns hundreds of millions of dollars. I can't be more specific than that," said Facebook spokesperson Niall McEntegart at the press conference, cited by local media Fyens Stifttidende.
