Media: EU Commissioner could green-light Hungarian power plant in January

In a few weeks, the EU's competitions commissioner will officially decide on whether a Russian company can expand Hungarian nuclear power plant Paks II with financing from Russia. Hungarian politicians expect a favorable result.

The EU Competitions Commissioner, Margrethe Vestager, is tackling one of the larger cases in her backlog. The case concerning Hungarian nuclear power plant Paks II will soon be assessed by the commissioner and according to Politico, Vestager is expected to approve the deal.
