Rick Perry to be Energy Secretary under Trump

US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed former Texas governor Rick Perry to head the department he once wanted to shut down. Perry is an advocate for black energy, but has also helped transform Texas into a green paradise for wind energy.

Former Texas Governor and previous presidential candidate Rick Perry has been appointed US Secretary of Energy in Donald Trump's coming administration, according to several US media, including the New York Times.

Rumors recently surfaced that Perry, 66, was in the running for the job, however he has been dubbed a somewhat strange choice.
