Pension firm to set stricter ESG requirements

Danish pension provider Sampension will intensify dialog and demands placed on the companies it invests in, says new ESG chief.

The sustainability agenda will become more prominent at Sampension in 2022 as the Danish pension firm intends to have more dialog with companies in the investment portfolio. Demands placed on such businesses will also become more extensive, says Sampension Head of ESG Jacob Ehlerth Jørgensen.

"This year, we as an investor will raise our expectations of companies, for instance, that companies work to reduce their climate footprint, which will play a contributing role in us realizing our own objective to remove CO2 emissions from the consolidated portfolio in compliance with the Paris Agreement and to achieve climate neutrality from 2050," Jørgensen says:
