German coalition parties reach agreement

The three parties working to form Germany's next government have reached a coalition deal to be presented Wednesday afternoon, writes AFP.

The deal paves the way for center-left Social Democrats leader Olaf Scholz to replace longtime Chancellor Angela Merkel in coming weeks.
