Statnett books record-high congestion revenue in 2021

The Norwegian TSO notes significantly higher income from interconnectors to neighboring countries providing reduced grid fare for customers.

Power cables connecting Norway with neighboring countries have shown themselves to be quite the lucrative business for Statnett in 2021. The country's transmission system operator books NOK 2.9bn (EUR 290m) in congestion revenues from interconnectors to other nations so far in 2021.

Moreover, the TSO has taken in around NOK 1bn of national network revenue, Statnett informs in a press statement.
