Australia sets long-term emissions reduction target

Australia aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 but doesn't strengthen 2030 target.

By 2050, Australia aims to achieve balance between the volume of greenhouse gases emitted by the country and those removed from the atmosphere.

The nation's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 was announced on Tuesday by Conservative Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
