China sets official CO2 cut ahead of 2030

For the first time, Beijing's official plan of action includes a goal for reducing carbon dioxide emissions before 2030.

China's government has published a plan of action showing a target for reducing CO2 emissions ahead of 2030, reports Reuters.

Observers had otherwise forecast that Chinese emissions would start to fall before 2030. What's new is the date now included in the national strategy.
