Nord Pool CEO resigns

Fredrik Bomstad becomes interim chief of Europe's leading power trading market following Kari Ekelund Thørud's resignation.

Kari Ekelund Thørud resigns as chief executive of energy trading market Nord Pool. Current Chief Financial officer Fredrik Bomstad is appointed interim CEO until a successor is found. Bomstad has worked at Nord Pool since 2018 and has also been director of strategy.

"After more than three years of leading Nord Pool, I am first of all very grateful to the Nord Pool teams for their hard work and inspiring dedication to continuously develop across both our established markets in the Nordic, Baltic and Great Britain, as well as the new Central European markets we have entered," Thørud says in a statement.
