With a new proposal on the future of alternative fuels, the EU is once again at the forefront of the green transition in the shipping industry, which has been IMO's province for years.
In a document just presented by the European Commission at initial meetings taking place as a run-off to the meetings in the IMO's environmental committee MEPC in November, the EU urges that the entire value chain is taken into account when the carbon impact of fuels are assessed going forward.
