EU ordinance postponed by flood of public consultation submissions

Information on the EU's new environmental taxonomy ordinance was meant to be presented before New Year's but is instead now delayed due to the EU Commission having received more than 46,000 public consultation submissions.

The union's taxonomy for categorizing economic activity based on environmental and sustainability criteria is delayed.

Even though the ordinance, applicable from Jan. 1, 2022, was supposed to have been settled prior to New Year's, an unexpected obstacle has now appeared.
