Green stocks soar off outlook to Democratic Party win in US Senate election

Vestas, Ørsted and Rockwool are some of the companies with surging share prices following the prospect of a double Democratic Party win in Georgia.

A twin Democratic Party triumph seems likely in the important US Senate election in Georgia, and the outlook is putting major upward pressure under green equities on the Danish C25 index.

Here, Vestas takes the top rank with a 2.9-percent surge to DKK 1,508.5 (EUR 202.79) per share, with Ørsted on the wind major's heels with an appreciation of 2.6 percent. Insulation maker Rockwool also gains ground with a 1-percent advance to DKK 2,276 ten minutes into Wednesday trading CET.
