
The current year is on track to become on of the three warmest years on record, the UN announced Wednesday, while United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres warns that the world is on the brink of a "climate catastrophe."
The past six years – from 2015 until 2020 – are set to become the the hottest years on record, since modern temperature measurements began in 1850, informs the UN's World Meteorological Organization, WMO, in an periodic report on global climate in 2020.
