EU Parliament committee demands 60-percent CO2 reduction by 2030

The EU Parliament's environment committee aims to considerably increase the 2030 carbon reduction target.

A majority in the environment committee of the European Parliament on Thursday voted in favor of a 60-percent carbon reduction by 2030.

The actual decision comes next week, when the entire parliament votes on the matter. But the big vote usually ends with the same result as that of the committee.
