US authorities warned the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs at least twice that Dan-Bunkering was involved in jet fuel deliveries to Syria, writes Danish news media DR based on key sources and documents the media received access to.
The first warning was issued to the Danish embassy in Washington, D.C., in October 2016. At the time, the FBI and US prosecution authority were investigating a case regarding Russian tanker vessels sailing jet fuel across the Mediterranean to Syria, in defiance of international sanctions.
