Democrats win control of House of Representatives

The Democrats have snatched a majority away from the Republicans in the House of Representatives, while the Republicans saw a big win in the senate.

The Democrats have both won and lost in the US mid-term elections Tuesday. In the House of Representatives, the Democrats wrestled a majority away from the Republicans, while the latter party built up its majority in the Senate, report several US media including CNN and Fox News early Wednesday morning CET.

The preliminary counts show that the Democrats scored a net win of 25 seats in the House of Representatives at approximately 06:30 Central European Time, writes political media redclearpolitics. The party needed 23 seats to win a majority.
