French environment minister quits in protest

France's environment minister resigns in protest over inadequate progress in climate efforts.

French environment minister Nicolas Hulot announces his resignation Tuesday, citing disappointment with inadequate progress on the climate agenda and other environmental problems.

Hulot, a former television celebrity and environmental activist, says he has not yet informed French President Emanuel Macron about his decision.
