China sends negotiator to the US to temper trade war

China and the US will attempt to moderate their escalated trade dispute at a meeting in late August.

China will send a negotiator to the US in late August to resume trade talks between the two countries, the Chinese ministry of commerce informs Thursday, adding that the US extended the invitation.

This will be the first public meeting to occur between the countries in several weeks.
