Ørsted signs US offshore wind contract with Siemens Gamesa

The two companies have also signed a declaration of intent, which gives Ørsted exclusive rights to discuss a potential capacity development of up to 2 GW offshore wind.

Danish energy group Ørsted has signed its first US contract with the Spanish-German turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa to deliver turbines for Ørsted's offshore wind farm in the state of Virginia, according to a press release published Thursday afternoon.

Siemens Gamesa will deliver two WT-6.0-154 offshore wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6 MW, and delivery is expected to begin in mid-2020.
