EU ready to levy further duties on US goods

The EU Commission is preparing a long list of US goods for added import duties, amounting to around USD 20 billion, which will be levied if the US places new tariffs on European auto imports, tells EU Trade Commissioner.

The EU is prepared to retaliate if the US levies new tariffs on imported European cars, says EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström to Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter on Wednesday.

"We hope that it doesn’t come to that and that we can find a solution. If not, the EU Commission is preparing a rather long list of many American goods. It would be around USD 20 billion," she said.
