Vattenfall: It is important that we do not lose focus on Europe

France and Poland could be interesting areas for Vattenfall, says the president of Vattenfall's offshore wind division.

While several of the major offshore wind players are turning towards new markets such as the US and Taiwan, Swedish utility Vattenfall has opted to focus its energies on European expansion.

"The interesting thing about the European market is that with a 32 percent renewable energy target, it remains the largest market. Also when we reach the end of 2020," says Michael Simmelsgaard, CEO of Vattenfall's offshore wind division to Ritzau Finans.
