Germany's new foreign minister wants comprehensive EU reforms

The EU must move away from unanimity in decision-making – if it does not, foreign powers will attempt to split the bloc, says Heiko Maas.

The EU must be reformed so its administration gets a different structure and in order for member countries to appear united, says Germany's new foreign minister, Heiko Maas.

In his first important political speech, Maas emphasizes that the EU must work together with the US whenever possible, and that the EU must fill the gaps left by US withdrawal.
