Rockwool makes giant leap in first quarter

The Danish insulation company's net income grew substantially in the first three months of 2018.

The Danish mineral wool insulation manufacturer ended its first quarter with a comfortable improvement compared to the same period last year.

The company's earnings before interest and taxes landed at EUR 70 million against EUR 46 million from the same period in 2017. That comes from a slightly improved top line at EUR 603 million, which is an increase of EUR 69 million. Converted to percentage, the development in sales increased by 16.5 percent. Rockwool informs that only 3 percent of that growth relates to the acquisition of the Swiss company Flumroc.
