Finland gives Nord Stream 2 the green light

Finland's government has given permission to the company behind the Russian gas pipeline to place its pipes in Finnish waters. Nord Stream 2 expects the final Finnish approval within a few weeks.

As the first country in Scandinavia, Finland has approved Nord Stream 2, announces the country's government in a statement.

Thursday this week, the Finnish government gave its consent for the company behind the controversial Russian pipeline to Germany to lay the pipes through Finnish waters.
