Authorities clear Maersk Oil sale

The Danish government calls on Total to "enter a dialog" with the Danish Energy Agency to modernize the sole concession so it transitions to regular conditions.

The Danish Energy Agency has formally approved the sale of Maersk Oil to France's Total, announces the agency Friday morning.

The French company received the approval Wednesday, which relates to an investigation of the oil company's financial and technical competence as well as its ability to operate and develop the sole concession.
