French energy group Total is already among the world's largest players in liquefied natural gas (LNG). With the approaching takeover of Maersk Oil, the French firm looks set to grow even bigger.
But Total's appetite for acquisitions seems in no way sated. The company is now showing interest in LNG and considering placing a bid on the former French monopoly Engie's LNG business, said Total CEO Patrick Pouyanne yesterday from Saudi Arabia in an interview with Bloomberg TV.
