British offshore sector still losing jobs

Jobs are still disappearing in the British offshore sector. In the first half of 2017, another 13,000 jobs vanished. "I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel," says one union rep.

The British offshore sector is still losing jobs, even though several oil companies have declared that they will dial investments back up after years of cost reductions.

A new study from industry organization Oil & Gas UK estimates that 13,000 British jobs have vanished from the oil industry in the first part of 2017.
