Merkel backs lawsuit against car giant

Germany's head of state, Chancellor Angela Merkel, revealed in an election debate Sunday evening that she backs a class-action suit against Volkswagen regarding compensation for diesel-car owners.

German car giant Volkswagen has made headlines yet again. 

This time, Germany's leader Chancellor Angela Merkel has announced that she backs a class-action suit which could end up forcing Volkswagen to increase compensation to German diesel-car owners as they did in the US, reports Reuters.
