Danish-Polish gas pipeline closer to reality

A 550-kilometer gas pipeline via Denmark to Poland could be on the way.

Norwegian gas to Poland via Denmark could become a reality if there is political approval for the project, which has recently undergone a hearing with strong support, reports Danish media Ingeniøren.

Preliminary plans indicate that the gas pipeline would be connected to one of the large, Norwegian gas transmission pipelines, Europipe II, which is located in the North Sea and thus also runs across Denmark and via the Baltic Sea, where it would be connected to the Polish transmission system. The project is budgeted at between DKK 12 and 15.5 billion (EUR 2 billion).
