Songa union rep: New owner could be both good and bad news

Transocean has limited activity in Norway, says union spokesman for Songa Offshore's employees, following news of the sale to the US-based rig major. New ownership could be positive as well as negative, he tells media E24.

Employees at Norwegian rig company Songa Offshore can look forward to getting a new owner in US-based Transocean, and this could be both good and bad news, union spokesman Knut Ness tells media E24.

"Transocean is a company with extensive experience and history, and that's a positive, but at the same time, it's not a Norwegian company, and they don't have a lot of activity in this country," he tells the Norwegian media.
