Norway to limit foreign access to oil fields

In a new legislative bill, the Norwegian government is proposing that Norway should be able to deny state-controlled, non-EU, energy companies access to the Norwegian shelf.

Norway wants to make it more difficult for foreign companies to buy their way into gas and oil fields on the Norwegian shelf.

In a proposed change to legislation, the government is looking to limit access to the Norwegian part of the North Sea for non-EU companies. This is motivated by considerations for national security, reports Dagens Næringsliv.
