Maersk Drilling customers cancel options for two rigs

Rigs Maersk Innovator and Maersk Intrepid will be back on the market in June and September next year. This is evident after two oil companies have declined to exercise options to extend contracts.

Another two Maersk Drilling rigs will return to the leasing market in 2018 when their current contracts expire. This is clear after the rigs' current charterers have decided not to exercise their options to extend contracts for rigs Maersk Innovator and Maersk Intrepid.

Maersk Innovator will therefore become available when its work for ConocoPhillips ends in June 2018, while Maersk Intrepid's contract with French oil major Total will expire in September 2018. Both jack-up rigs are deployed in the Norwegian part of the North Sea.
