Gazprom benefits from EU thirst for gas

When winter struck Europe, Gazprom could warm itself on the continent's gas consumption. The Russian gas company is seemingly unaffected by political criticism from the EU.

Gazprom often plays the villain in EU-related narratives.

But recent years of major cases filed against Gazprom for abuse of its market dominance have had no affect on the Russian company's business with EU member nations, shows Gazprom's first quarter interim report, presented Wednesday.
