Gas leak in Chinese coal mine kills at least 18 people

After an explosion in the Hunan province, the number of coal mine fatalities has now reached upwards of 100 over the past six months.

A gas leak in a coal mine in central China has killed at least 18 people. 37 other miners were rescued and transported to a hospital.

The accident happened Sunday evening in the city Huangfengqiao in the Hunan province, according to local authorities.
