Maersk Oil and partners move forward with Sverdrup

Maersk Oil, Statoil and the other partners in the Johan Sverdrup field have decided to move forward to phase 2, where the partners eye a break-even of less than USD 25 per barrel.

Maersk Oil, Statoil, and other partners in the huge Norwegian oil field Johan Sverdrup have agreed to move forward with phase 2 of the project.

The partners have agreed on the next steps in developing the oil field, which is one of the biggest discoveries ever in the Norwegian underground and is estimated to contain between two and three billion barrels of oil.
