Tillerson removes himself from oil pipeline case

The US secretary of state and former oil executive has so much to gain from a new permit for controversial oil pipeline Keystone XL, that he must remove himself from the case.

US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, former head of oil giant ExxonMobil, has withdrawn himself from discussions regarding a permit for the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline.

According to State Department spokesperson Mark Toner, the minister had "decided in early February to recuse himself from TransCanada's application for a Presidential Permit," reports CNN.
