Statoil dials up renewable energy ambitions

A new plan sets out that Statoil will invest more in renewable energy and solutions intended to reduce carbon emissions.

Reduced CO2 emissions, improved carbon intensity, and growth in renewable energy. This is the main takeaway from Statoil's new climate roadmap, which outlines the strategy and targets to reach by 2030.

It is evident in the new strategy that Statoil plans to reduce the amount of CO2 emitted per produced barrel. The target is a reduction of 20 percent, from 10 kilograms to 8 kilograms per barrel.
