Potential Dong buyer from Scotland has an appetite for acquisitions

Scottish oil company Cairn Energy, rumoured in international media as a potential buyer of Dong's oil and gas business, reveals its appetite for acquisitions in a new report.

2017 will be an exciting year for Cairn Energy, which will actively consider possible purchase opportunities in the North Sea over the year, reads the report published by the Scottish energy company Wednesday morning.

Although the announcement doesn't hint at anything in particular, it is hard not to consider it in light of the rumours that Cairn Energy is a possible buyer of Dong Energy's oil and gas activities. Cairn Energy was most recently in mid-February singled out by news media Reuters as a favourite to take over the oil and gas activities which the Danish energy company is trying to get rid of.
