Exxon cleans up after Tillerson

Drastic write-downs of oil reserves and a more intense focus on shale oil than before.

During the last decade of leadership under group CEO Rex Tillerson, ExxonMobil Corp – the world's largest listed oil company – has enjoyed a reputation as a well operated giant.

As such, expectations were high that CEO Darren Woods would carry on business as usual upon taking over the top post, after Tillerson relocated to to Washington D.C. to take up the job as secretary of state in the US government.
