Moody's downgrades Maersk to outlook negative

Credit ratings agency Moody's downgrades Maersk Group from Baa1 to Baa2 and outlook negative. The move is a direct consequence of the group's strategic restructuring, which means that the former conglomerate is being split into two parts.

This Tuesday, Moody's Investors Service downgraded the issuer rating and senior unsecured rating of Maersk Group.

The US-based ratings agency wrote Tuesday in a statement that the credit rating of Maersk Group was being downgraded from Baa1 to Baa2 with a negative outlook. Roughly, this means that it could become more expensive for Maersk to borrow money.
