Maersk and Dong float possibility of oil merger

Danish shipping giant Maersk and Danish energy company Dong have begun discussions of a possible merger between the two companies' oil divisions.

Two leading Danish companies – shipping giant Maersk and energy company Dong – have reportedly launched talks to discuss a potential merger of their respective oil divisions, reports The Sunday Times.

According to the newspaper, both companies have hired consultants to work on the potential oil merger.
