Thursday night witnessed a fire on the transport and conveyor system at Koorang Coal Terminal in Australia's Port Waratah, which is part of Newcastle port, writes the port in a statement.
According to the statement, the conveyor belt was not in operation when the fire was noticed Friday afternoon at 3PM local time (3AM CET). It has been concluded that the fire was quickly put out and no one was hurt. The coal terminal has, however, been shut down while the incident is under investigation. No time-frame for the shutdown has been stated.
