Statoil is now launching an investigation of whether or not the oil company's focus on cutting costs in a rough oil market has been detrimental to safety standards.
The investigation is a response to the fact that eight serious incidents have occurred in the past two months during the oil company's work on the Norwegian Shelf, writes Norwegian media Aftenposten.
