Dong could be stuck with Norwegian oil bill despite divestment

Although companies such as Shell and Dong Energy are divesting their oil and gas activities in Norway, they may get stuck with the clean up bill, warn the Norwegian authorities.

A number of major oil companies are in the process of pulling out of Norway.

This includes giants such as Shell, Exxon, and Total, but also medium-sized players such as Dong Energy, which recently announced that the entire company's oil and gas division will be sold off.
